Forest School

On April 29th Reception took part in 'Forest school' at Beggars Bush. We listened carefully to our Forest School Leader - Miss Burnhill, who explained our forest school rules before we entered the forest.

  1. We listen to all the grown ups especially our Forest School Leader
  2. We stay within the boundary rope line
  3. We move carefully in the forest using our feet, eyes and ears to watch, feel and hear where we are going
  4. We do not throw or swing objects around the forest
  5. We are always careful with sticks - if we pick them up we drag them carefully behind us
  6. We look after things, we never pick growing things
  7. We always show things we have found to the grown ups
  8. We wash and wipe our hands before eating and never put our hands in our mouth
  9. We never eat any thing from the forest
  10. We put things back carefully in the forest before we leave

We then entered the forest and sat down at our base camp. Here we thought about how the animals in the forest like it if we talk quietly, listen carefully, be kind to each other and share and take it in turns. We became familiar with the forest by playing 1,2,3, where are you? (hide and seek). After this we began to search for minibeasts! We then returned to base camp for snack time and talked about what we had found. We had a great time and can’t wait to go again!
