Polar Experience at Bristol Zoo

Reception visited Bristol Zoo for a 'Polar Experience'. We went into the ‘ice cave’ where we explored artefacts from Polar Regions. We found a narwhal’s tusk, a stuffed polar bear and lots of different animal furs. We then learned about life as an emperor penguin in the Antarctica, put on penguin head dresses and acted out huddling together in a storm. Finally, we went to see the polar animals living in the zoo. We saw many penguins, a seal pup and especially enjoyed watching the large seals playing together on the rocks and chasing each other through the water.
