The Redgrave Theatre

Thanks to the vision of pioneering teacher John Hersee, Clifton College was one of the first schools in the country to have a purpose-built theatre on site. Today the theatre continues to serve the three branches of the College and the local community: The Redgrave Theatre (named after Old Cliftonian Sir Michael Redgrave) seats 320 and hosts more than 40 productions a year. Arguably some of the best of Bristol's amateur and semi-professional theatre is staged here, and it is also home to the majority of performances for Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. The theatre offers perfect sight lines from all seats, allowing for an excellent relationship between actors and audience – as such it remains one of the most popular venues in Bristol for all types of theatre.

The new programme is available from the Theatre now – please contact The Redgrave Theatre on redgrave@clifton-college.avon.sch.uk to be added to the mailing list.

Please note that the Redgrave Theatre does not have a permanent Box Office, so please contact the visiting companies directly to purchase tickets. Details can be found in the programme.
