Sport and Leisure Facilities

Clifton College is fortunate to have extensive sports facilities, on both the school campus and on a separate site referred to as Clifton College Sports Ground (aka 'Beggar Bush' or 'BB') on Abbots Leigh Road across the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

This impressive site in Abbots Leigh boasts international-standard sand-dressed Astroturf pitches for football, hockey, netball and tennis; one hundred acres of playing fields, ideal for tournaments of all kinds - from hockey to ultimate frisbee - a pavilion with multiple changing facilities and a fully-licensed bar with catering (a venue in its own right). The Workshop Fitness Centre offers a high-tech gym, with flexible monthly payment options and free use of the Sports Centre in Clifton. The Indoor Sports Centre - a fantastic undercover facility, ideal for tennis and netball - is an exciting addition to this already expansive site.

Also a Real Tennis Court is available for use by Cliftonians.

Clifton College Fitness Centre

At the Clifton College site on Guthrie Road, the Clifton College Fitness Centre offers a fitness gym with full weights, sports hall for badminton, basketball and volleyball, squash and outdoor tennis courts, plus a 25m heated indoor pool. Various aerobics, circuit training and aqua-aerobics classes are held. There is a full membership scheme for families, couples and individuals. Please see the current opening times.

Run by Clifton College, Ashton Court Golf Course offers two great courses near the centre of Bristol.
