Butcombe Sports Day

The highlight of the Butcombe sporting calendar took place on Lower Slopes on the main Clifton campus and was once again extremely well supported by Butcombe parents and friends.

Butcombe children were organised in to ten teams with these teams divided in to ‘Big Side’- Years 2 and 3, and ‘Little side’ – Year 1 and Reception. All the 10 teams had differently coloured tee-shirts which helped build a great team spirit.

After completing all the events, everyone moved across to the sprint track and took it in turns to race down the track, which got longer as the children got older. Following the conclusion of the children’s races there was then a Little Visitors race, Mother’s Race and lastly the Father’s race which were all very close races this year!

Dr Bowring then announced how the teams had got on and the winning team, congratulations to the Navy Blues. All teams received stickers which were presented to the team captains and the top three placed teams also received certificates.

After the results were announced all the children could enjoy a well deserved ice lolly whilst the parents enjoyed tea and cakes in the crypt.
