Girls' Cricket Festival

The Pre hosted their first girls' Severnside cricket festival on a sunny afternoon at Watson's recently, with teams from The Downs, Tockington, Dean Close, Wycliffe, St Johns and of course Clifton. Before the matches started all the girls were treated to several coaching sessions which looked at all the aspects of the game including batting and bowling. After the coaching it was onto the matches, which were played as paired cricket 10-a-side. There was some great cricket on display by all teams, and a good time was had by all.

Girls' cricket at the Pre has proved extremely popular since being introduced in 2010 and a number of other schools in the area have now introduced it, leading to a growing number of matches for the girls to play.

We look forward to next year’s festival and more girls cricket matches at the Pre.
