New Zealand enjoy Twenty20 win over India

Clifton played host to international cricket on the Close recently when the New Zealand women’s team beat India by 25 runs for a chance at making it to the final of the quadrangular Twenty20 series.

Three early wickets were lost by the White Ferns with Suzie Bates going at the first ball; then Sara McGlashan and Amy Satterthwaite both dismissed before play was settled by Elizabeth Perry getting an unbeaten 48 from 41 balls. Katey Martin gained 29 to add 62 for the fifth wicket and Nicola Browne tipped in 22 not out.

India struggled without any useful partnerships and a top score of 26 from Amita Sharma.

Mark Moore, Head of College, was delighted to present prizes and in return to receive a cricket bat signed by both teams.
