Clifton College WebsitePrep School Headmaster's BulletinMr John Milne, the Headmaster of Clifton College Preparatory School, writes a regular newsletter about the "the Pre"... Issue 11Dear Parents, The Year 7s are working hard at present as part of their exam week with Year 8 exams looming after half-term. Although it is now seems a distant memory, it was a pleasure to see so many of you at the Classic Car Wheeze and I hope that you thoroughly enjoyed the day. The range of activities, performances and displays throughout the day certainly provided for an extremely rich experience; I hope that you were able to see the Pre at its best and felt very proud of our school – I certainly did. For those of you who attended the Pre's Triathlon last Saturday, I'm sure that you were 'blown away' by the sheer scale of the event. I am extremely grateful to Mrs Hardy and all the Pre Staff for their immense contributions in making this event so successful. I am also thankful to Martin Foster and Jane Robinson for their outstanding professionalism in ensuring the event ran so smoothly. The pupils enjoyed themselves immensely and the whole occasion was a fantastic event for the Pre. Both members of staff and parents couldn't help but feel that the morning was superb, overall. Well done to Mrs Hardy for having the vision and the enormous attention to detail in making the whole thing happen – and happen so well. It is clear that this event is here to stay in the future! The Official Referee's comments: "For a first time event involving 300+ children this can only be regarded as a huge success. Fantastic support from competitors, staff and parents. Congratulations should be extended to both organisers and the Clifton College staff for promoting the Triathlon." With the pupils taking in the Olympic Torch Relay last Wednesday and the visit of wildlife specialist Steve Backshall to the Redgrave Theatre (thanks to Mrs Sarsby, Lucia's mum, for arranging the visit), it has been a truly remarkable week for our children; half-term is a welcomed break. I hope that you have a very enjoyable half-term break.
