Dear Parents,

We have had another busy and enjoyable week. Dr Bowring is away with Year 3 on their overnight trip to Welsh Bicknor and there was high excitement as they set off yesterday.

Today we've had a lot of fun on our Red, White and Blue Day. We all dressed in the Jubilee colours and had a tea party this afternoon. We played traditional games and a true sense of occasion was observed!

The Year 1 children had their Pow Wow in the Hall yesterday, as a finale to their project on Native Americans. They all dressed up and sang a delightful repertoire of traditional songs. It was a wonderful sight. On Tuesday Year 3 children gave a concert in Butcombe Hall performing on drums, violin, cello, guitar, French horn, trombone, clarinet, oboe, piano and singing. Very impressive for one year group!

Looking ahead, on Monday 11th June, the first day back after half term, the Year 3 girls will be playing Rounders during their Games session at The Downs School. Parents are welcome to come along and support us. The girls are unlikely to be back to Butcombe before 4.15 pm.

A couple of dates have been changed for parents to come along and watch their child's French lessons after half term. 2B will now be on Wednesday 20th June at 9.10 am until 9.40 am and RW will also be on the 20th on the same day from 1.30 pm until 1.50 pm. A full list of timings will be emailed to you today.

Also for your attention the meeting of Friends of Butcombe scheduled for Tuesday 12th June has been changed to Wednesday 13th June at 8.40 in the Crypt.

It is lovely to be able to congratulate Ben Chiverton, Ollie Simcox and James Wood who went to High Wycombe last Saturday to take part in the Independent Schools' Team Judo competition. All three boys did extremely well with Ollie managing to get as far as the Bronze medal contest.

Lastly, this is the link to the Pre newsletter PreView Issue 11.

All that remains is to say have a wonderful half term break and we look forward to seeing everybody again on Monday 11th June!

Best wishes
