Dear Parents

Well, we've made it! The last day of term - exciting in many ways, but also rather sad as we see many of our children move on to pastures new. It has been a busy and successful year, and everyone is ready for a break to recharge the batteries. We are sorry to see our Year 3 children move on, and wish them well, along with the few other children in Butcombe who are moving to new schools.

We are also sorry to be saying goodbye to one of our Gap students, Hannah Coughlin, and of course to Mrs Bath, who will be sorely missed. We look forward to welcoming back Mrs Townsend, currently Miss Parker, who gets married in the summer. I am sure you will want to join with me in wishing Lisa and Patrick every happiness for their future together.

For all those returning in September, our 'shuffle-up' morning, when the children spent time with their new teacher, went extremely well and the staff are very excited with their new classes. On the first day of term, please bring your child directly into school when you arrive: there will be no lining up in the playground when the bell goes first thing because we have yet to organise the children into their lines, which will do at the first morning break time.

A date for your diary next term - the Butcombe Network are holding a Barn Dance for parents on Saturday, 26 September, for all Butcombe parents.

All that remains for me to do is to thank you for your support over the year, and to wish you and your families a wonderful summer holiday.
