Visiting school has fun at Clifton

Clifton hosted a visit by The Downs School Year 7 children on Monday, 8 June for a day of Maths and Sporting fun!

First things first and some refuelling was required in the form of squash and cakes - and then on to the serious stuff of dividing the group into teams.

The 'Mega Team Challenge' laid the pace of the day, taking place in the newly refurbished Science School. A series of tricky tasks were set against the clock and the race for points began. The enthusiasm and eagerness was impressive, with all the teams showing real drive and determination to do well. A little too much enthusiasm at times maybe – with the ‘fingers on the buzzer’ finale almost causing buzzer and teacher overload.

The eventual winners of the morning sessions excitedly showed off their prizes while everyone relaxed together over lunch.

The first part of the afternoon was spent honing Softball skills on The Close, in beautiful sunshine. Then after a quick photocall, off for some inflatable fun in the swimming pool.

The soft chatter of happy and tired children as they crawled onto buses, was all we needed to know a good time was had by all.
