Pre French Trip 2010

Pre French Trip 2010

In early May we managed to find a window in all the ash cloud flight disruptions and went to France and back as planned. The six-day stay in Soustons, near Biarritz went very well. We were fortunate with the weather as we arrived at the end of a spell of bad weather and enjoyed plenty of sunshine. The pupils threw themselves into all the activities and wherever possible they made a really good effort with their French. There were plenty of opportunities for them to go to small shops and buy ice-creams, crêpes and for some “saucissons” and fresh ham and discover the local ‘Landaise’ and ‘Basque’ cultures. I was especially pleased to speak with the locals and to hear how impressed they were with our pupils’ behaviour and their effort with the language. The pupils who went on the trip were a credit to the school. They enjoyed all the activities and got a lot out of the trip on many levels. It was a very enjoyable experience for all. Thank you to Mr Miles and Miss Toy for all their help and enthusiasm on the trip.

Merci tout le monde,

Mr Alex Durkin
