Half A Sixpence 11–15 January 2010

Come and see your friends, your children’s teachers and maybe even your own children on the stage!

There is a long tradition of a production in The Redgrave Theatre at the start of the Lent Term, put on by a company of teachers, parents and pupils. This year we are staging the famous musical Half A Sixpence – a show full of romance, dance and big songs! Several recent and current pupils, teachers and parents are taking part so I hope you will want to come to support them.

The lead parts of Kipps and Ann are played by Callum Paine (OC, MH) and Charlotte Bresnahan (WT). Charlotte will be well known to many of you and has recently taken part in the school production of Les Misérables. Callum won the ‘best actor’ award for his performance in Moberly’s fantastic production of Blood Brothers in the Upper School House Drama Festival a couple of years ago.

Other Upper School pupils taking part are: Freddy Blanks (WaH), Dylan Trenouth (ET), Lizzie Streatfeild-James (OH), Lowri Edwards (WT), Mabel Moll (HH), Magnus Gordon (ST) and Will Slatton (ET). Recent OCs in the cast are: Mark Lunt (ex-ST), Jack Dixey (ex-ST) and Abi Hallworth (ex-HH). Pupils taking part from the Pre are: Rachel Overton (STP), Katherine Goldsworthy (PHP) and Fin Trenouth (HHP).

Although not many Upper School teachers are in this production, those who were in the Pre will enjoy seeing Mr Hallworth, Mrs Beavis, Mr Smith, Miss Davies and Mr Hughes-Games on stage!

A number of parents are again treading the boards and these include: Mrs Isabel Trenouth, Mr Graham Lewis, Mr Bruce Slatton and Mrs Sallie Blanks.

The show is directed by Douglas Henderson, former Director of Drama in the Upper School; the musical director is Julian Edgell is Head of Science in the Pre, and the choreographer is Vicci Klein, a former parent.

Please see the production programme for further information about Half A Sixpence, including seat prices and the box office number.
