OC Oxford branch dinner

This year the Oxford OC Dinner was held at St. Edmunds Hall, and as we always find with Oxford Colleges, they didn't fail to impress. Not surprisingly, the friendly Clifton College spirit contributed to the warm-hearted atmosphere that was present throughout the evening. Having said that, it was no surprise to find that by the end of the evening every drop of wine had vanished. The Headmaster Mark Moore spoke of the recent success Clifton has seen in every field of school life, and although this came as no surprise to many of us, it is always a pleasure to hear of the school's triumphs and achievements. Following the Headmaster, Simon Reece said a few words including some memorable stories which raised a few eyebrows, but were unquestionably enjoyed and laughed at by all. In fact sharing stories seemed to be a common thread between OCs who finished Clifton 50 years ago, and OCs that may have left only last year, all equally as outrageous as each other's (in fact I'm sure some of the older ones may have been worse!) In all, the night was a great success and it was great to see so many come along to support and reminisce on Clifton life.

Vancouver Branch Reunion

The event was very enjoyable. The Windsor–Liscombes gave brief, but glowing, reports on their recent experiences at Clifton. All were exhorted to register for 2012.

There was agreement that the group should meet again before too long – perhaps at a BC location that might allow other BC OCs to attend conveniently.

David Lalonde has volunteered to organise a Vancouver Island OC group.

Alumni Cross Country - Wimbledon Common, London

This annual 5-mile cross country running race was held in South West London and was contested by alumni of British public schools. The senior race was 4 runners per team, with additional team competitions for over-40s and over 50s. More information on the race can be found by visiting the website.
