The Old Cliftonian Lodge was formed to provide a meeting place for Old Cliftonians through Freemasonery on January 22nd 1909.

The Lodge was one of the five founding members of what has today become the Public School Lodges' Council. Although it is a London Lodge, it has a special relationship with the province of Bristol.

The regular meetings of the Lodge are held at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London on the third Thursdays in January, October and November, and the fourth Thursday in April. The November meeting is usually moved by dispensation, to Bristol and is held at Freemasons’ Hall, Park Street, Bristol on the Saturday nearest to Remembrance Sunday.
