Old Cliftonion Reunion – Saturday 10th May 2008

Dear Old Cliftonian

On behalf of the Headmaster, Mark Moore, I am delighted to invite you and your wife/partner to join us for the OC reunion on Saturday 10th May 2008 when we are inviting all those born between 1955 and 1960, and therefore in school between 1968 and 1978. If you have not been back to Clifton recently, you will probably find many changes and improvements and there will be opportunities to tour the school.

The Reunion will begin with a special Chapel service including the school at 11.15am, followed by coffee in the Newbolt Room. At 12.15pm, there will be a champagne reception on School House lawn, and lunch in Big School at 1.00pm.

In the afternoon, there will be a cricket match on The Close and guides will be available to show you round the school and take you to Beggar’s Bush, where there have been considerable changes. Tea will be provided at 4.00pm on School House lawn, weather permitting, or in the Newbolt Room if it is raining.

Pre-dinner drinks will be provided in boarding and day houses at 7.00pm. Dinner, in smart casual dress and NOT black tie, will be on the Upper Floor of Big School at 8.00pm. There is a lift available, so please let me know if you need help. Present Housemasters and Housemistresses and, I hope, a few masters from your vintage will be among the guests.

If you are able to come, please print and complete the attached form and return it to us by Friday 11th April. We regret we are unable to offer beds in school except in special circumstances. A list of hotels is given below. Please make your own arrangements with the hotel of your choice as soon as you can, as this may be a busy weekend.

The cost of £75.00 per person for the Reunion will cover all meals, dinner, wine, port and the champagne reception.

If any local OCs can offer beds to friends and contemporaries, this will be most helpful.

We do hope you can manage to come to this weekend and we look forward to hearing from you shortly and, at the latest, by 11th April if possible, please.
