In an age of rapid change, successful schools will have a clear vision concerning the skills which pupils are going to need as they grow and develop.

These include the academic skills needed not just to pass entrance examinations into independent Senior Schools at 13+ but also, and this is equally important, the skills and levels of attainment which will equip them with the ability, knowledge, experience and attitude which will allow them to become successful adults.

This process starts with us - indeed, getting it right at this age is vital in this respect – and our academic curriculum is broad. Whilst acknowledging the national targets set by Government in numeracy and literacy, our independence allows us to achieve these skills at levels well above national norms and retain a broad and rich curriculum geared to educating the whole child.

If there is emphasis, it is on ICT and languages. These two areas are going to be of enormous importance to our boys and girls in later life. A new Science School, a range of ICT suites which mirror the fact that Clifton is a market-leader in this area, and a language curriculum which includes French, German, Spanish and Mandarin all combine to assist us in delivering this vision.
