The Romans Baths
Today we went to the Romans baths in Bath. First went to a teaching room were we were able to do: mosaics, dressing up in togas and handling artefacts. We went back to
the entrance to get audio guides that tell you what everything is about and what things were used for. Then we went on to a balcony were we could see the hot bath. There
were statues up on the balcony of Emperors. The Romans wrote curses on pieces of lead so the gods could read it and the curses were written back to front so no one could
read it except the gods. After that we went to see the other chambers - the hot room (caldarium) and cold room .The men and women and went to different places to swim.
The baths were not only for swimming - they were also used for wrestling, getting fit and a good place to meet your friends. We had a great visit!
