Clifton College WebsiteMoral and Spiritual DevelopmentWe live in confusing times. Attitudes, beliefs and ethics, which have for some years remained unchallenged, are now constantly questioned and diluted. The ground is shifting daily beneath children's feet in this respect and, in terms of the whole development of the child, we are not afraid to stand up for moral absolutes. The magnificent Chapel plays an important part in this. All children - day and boarding - attend three or four Chapel services a term. Daily worship is catered for by a variety of assemblies either as a whole school or within the Houses. Whilst Clifton is an Anglican foundation, children of all faiths are welcome and special arrangements can be made for their religious needs if required. Clifton has always had a strong Jewish tradition and Jewish pupils in the Pre can attend the school's own synagogue, receive Hebrew instruction and preparation for Barmitzvah if parents so wish. Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE) lessons also help to engage all pupils in positive discussions about a whole range of issues such as personal relationships, hygiene and smoking. © 2006-8 Clifton College | |||||||
