Clifton College WebsiteThe Centrality of Camps, Field Days and CoursesPlease see the CCF Calendar for details on camps and courses for 2011. The regular meeting time of the CCF is Monday afternoon for our unit. We have a wide range of facilities at our disposal including Beggar Bush fields for survival training and tactics. We also have access to the Downs, the Gorge, the shooting range at HMS FLYING FOX and the floating harbour for afloat training. During the Michaelmas and Lent terms, the three sections organise a two day training exercise known as ‘Field Days’. These are used to enhance and consolidate the skills acquired on Monday afternoons or to broaden a cadet’s experience by visiting military establishments Field day’s are free unless a cadet fails to show and they have either not told us about it in advance or made every effort to get hold of us on the day. Members of the CCF will also benefit from camps and courses away from Clifton. The Army and RAF Sections tend to go on their respective Summer Camps, whilst the RN Section sends its cadets away to one or more of over 110 RN organised courses. In addition there are many adventure training opportunities for all members of the organisation. Being a Combined Cadet Force, cadets from any section may attend any camp or course, as long as a certain amount of basic training has been completed. This means that cadets from all three sections can fly, sail, parachute, dive and learn advanced military skills to name but a few. It is a requirement to complete the syllabus that every cadet in the CCF attends at least one of the week long camps/courses on offer during their time in the 4th form. The wide range on offer should cater for every need! © 2006-12 Clifton College | Upper School NewsHockey success for Lily Owsley Schools' German Poetry Competition
