Clyde Fleet Tender 26 June – 03 July 2009

This was a great trip with many new experiences for us all. We tried out the new tracker I bought a couple of weeks ago - a few parents said it was great to see where we were on a daily basis, I am looking forward to giving it a tougher trial. We had amazing weather and I was pleased with the support the team offered each other throughout and the spirit in which they embraced the trip. We all had occasions when the going was tough and had difficult if not challenging tasks to achieve. Our sleeping accommodation was basic to say the least, and there were occasions when I thought a tent would have been oh so much better. Top shot award went to Alex Mullen, and Josh Pafford won the fish gutting and filleting prize. There is little doubt that camps and courses offer an insight into the forces but the personal gains far outweigh that insight. Being taken out of your comfort zone and thrust into an unfamiliar environment, given tasks that are sometimes unpleasant but necessary, is a challenge not faced by many 15 year olds. My thanks to you all for making my life easier than it could have been, and for providing me with an endless source of entertainment.
