Art

The Art Department believes that an education in the Arts is the right of everyone and not just the privilege of the talented few.

The facilities of the Art School consist of four large painting studios, a large and well-equipped ceramics studio, a photographic darkroom with five enlargers, silk-screen facilities, computers with graphics software in each studio, and a resources room with library, slides, and videos covering art history through to contemporary practice. The department believes strongly in the importance of integrating critical and historical study into the teaching and learning of art and design.

The Department is committed to encouraging the exploration of art through trips to galleries both at home and abroad. The students also exhibit their own work in the A Level, GCSE, Scholars and House Exhibitions.
