Music

Clifton has always been renowned for its Music, and continues to cater for the needs of new generations.

The Music School has wide-ranging facilities including two rehearsal halls, chamber music rooms, grand piano, many synthesisers and a computer suite dedicated to composition using ‘Sibelius’ software. The wide range of performance options includes the full orchestra, a wind band and a swing band; two string groups, jazz and brass groups as well as various smaller ensembles. All groups perform regularly in public. There are informal concerts most weeks, as well as House musical evenings and more formal events.

The cultural programme of the City of Bristol itself offers Cliftonians numerous opportunities to hear and to perform with professional musicians.
