Survival Skills

Thursdays 5:00 – 6:30pm

This survival skills course starts in September 2010. During the 8 week course you will be trained in various bushcraft and survival skills, covering the following topics: Tracking and stealth; Fire, flints and steel friction bow; Making shelters, Water sourcing, filtering and purification; Fish and pigeon preparation and cooking; Making string and rope from trees, plants, roots and animal sinew; Camp craft mammal preparation and cooking; Plant/tree identification and their uses.

Each session will be led by a qualified instructor, who will provide all the necessary kit and equipment. We will leave school each week at 4:45pm and return at 6:45pm (depending on traffic). The cost of the course is £96, there are 8 places available and places will be given on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of a consent form. Please read and return the attached parental consent form for a place on this course (limited to 8 pupils).
