Clifton College WebsiteGrace is a published author aged just 14Grace Jalleh-Sharples (Yr 9) won the Evans Schools Short Story Competition and was one of only 29 successful young writers to be published out of more than 3,000 entries from schools around the country. ![]() Her story has been used as the title for the winners’ anthology The Escape of Hannah Schmidt And Other Stories and Poems and was published to mark this year’s World Book Day. Entrants had to base their story around the opening line provided by the organisers: ‘From the other side of the wall, I could hear their footsteps getting closer. It was definitely now or never.’ Grace’s story was inspired by the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This is the second writing composition win for Grace in just a few months, so we look forward to many more tall tales in the near future, but in the meantime, very well done! 18 March 2010 © 2006-12 Clifton College | Upper School NewsClifton trumps the weather!
