The Tutor System

Each boy or girl at Clifton has a personal Tutor and there is a timetabled weekly Tutor Group period. Groups and individuals will also have contact with their Tutors informally in the Houses at other times during the week. The primary role of the Tutor is to get to know each of his or her tutees very well indeed so as to be able to offer academic and pastoral support whenever necessary. The secondary role is to deal with routine administrative and academic matters such as the monitoring of the regularly awarded effort and achievement grades, the completion of half termly self-assessments and the collation of end of term reports.
