Clifton College Website

Student Contributions

A school is all about its pupils and so the website should reflect this. We have always been proud at Clifton that our students are our best advert. When prospective parents and their children visit the school sixth form students take them on a tour and chat in a relaxed fashion about life at the school and what is on offer. The feedback from these visits is always good and so we decided to create space for their views and creative writing to be included on the site. This section will grow, I am certain, but at present a few brave volunteers have given up their valuable time to contribute. They have chosen what they want to write about and so it will necessarily be an interesting mix of styles and views. Perhaps in the future these budding journalists will revisit their early offerings in the archives.

As the Student Website Committee is only open to Sixth Formers, we inevitably lose one or two members as the years go by. Their contributions are still valued, and are still available for you to read. Find out who our past contributors are.

Sometimes students other than our group members write articles:

Ed Girardet, by Nino Freuler, Watson's House
Lunchtime Recial: Annabelle Walshe, by Anna Feather, Hallward's House
Charles Swindon: Metals Trading - How Science and Commerce Meet, by Anna Feather, Hallward's House

Hindostan Report, by Dominic Dixey, South Town

The Crusading Legacy, by Rosie Stoner, Hallward's House

Hallward’s House is very proud that the winner of the Stanley Steadman Essay Prize and the runner-up were both Hallwardians – Noonie Holmes (winner with Snowdrops) and Agata Chylinska (runner up with Fyodor Dostoevsky). The essays are excellent and demonstrate the level of motivation and ability that our girls have towards their academic success. Both of these girls are applying to Oxbridge this year and we wish them luck in their applications for French and Linguistics (Noonie) and Medicine (Agata).
